SHOW DAY
INFORMATION
Assembling Your Troupe
You must have at least 20 students on show day at the theatre. Every individual must perform in both of your two routines. Participants have to be 5 to 18 years of age (on the date of the show). You must complete a form, with a signature from a parent/guardian of every performer. This will also require a telephone number (in case of emergency on show day). By signing the Student Form, parents/guardians are also signing, to give us permission to include the image and name of their children in the show programme.
Calculating How Many Chaperones
You must bring one licensed chaperone for every 12 students of 5 to 16 years of age. Please note that chaperones will have to remain backstage at all times to care for the children. They cannot enter the auditorium during the show and will not be able to see the performance.

Obtaining Chaperone Licenses
Please note, adults cannot just have a DBS or enhanced DBS; all must have a chaperone license. They will need to apply for these with their own council. It will take some time to get these in place with the authorities, and Suffolk County Council will check up on licenses, so we urge you to make your applications immediately. By law, bRAVO! Theatre Productions must apply for a Body of Persons Approval from Suffolk County Council. The information we provide must be accurate. It is essential that you immediately inform us of any changes to your troupe and/or chaperones. You cannot arrive on show day with anything but the agreed troupe or with less than the required number of licensed chaperones.
Preparing Your Routines
You will perform 2 routines. Each routine must not exceed 6 minutes. All of your 20+ students must perform in both of the 2 routines. You will have no longer than one hour to get ready for the first routine and approximately thirty minutes at most, between the routines, to change. You may only have a few minutes to get changed for the finale routine.

Music Choice
Remember to get clearance from us on your music, before starting work on a routine. We must agree that your selection is appropriate for a young audience and avoid two schools using the same track. We will work on a first-come first-served basis. On Show Day, please bring your music on a memory stick, clearly marked with your schools name and music titles. You should bring a back-up copy and keep it safely in your dressing room. BRAVO! Theatre Productions will be covering the PPL and PRS fees for the use of your music. The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act of 1988, amended by the Copyright and Trade Marks Act of 2002, prohibits anyone from editing music, they did not create and publish. The Copyright and Related Regulations Act of 2003, states that an individual, should get permission from the copyright holder, before making changes to their work. Although an amateur dance troupe has never been taken to court over the editing of music, please note, if you choose to make a medley, mix or mash-up, your school will be taking full legal responsibility.

Singing
Should you want them, hand held or head mics can be made available to you for a fee. The Regent Theatre does not allow anyone to bring their own mics into the venue.
We must secure the rental of equipment well in advance. Also, we must know about mic needs, when finalising the running order for the show programme. We suggest that you contact us about singing immediately and please note, we cannot accept requests for mics, any later than 6 weeks before the event as the theatre needs to arrange hire and delivery. Please note, you will not have actually ordered any microphones, until you have paid the hire charge. The cost is currently approx. £250 per pack of 6 microphone. It is possible that this charge can be split with another school if there happens to be another one that wants mics on the same date as you. The sound desk can cope with up to 6 singers, within a single routine. We do have two hand held mics which can be used free of charge.

Props
Hand held props are acceptable but please be aware that this is a fast show and we do not have time to set up scenery. You should inform the producers about any and all props a.s.a.p. There is very little space back stage so we do need to know this information early on so that we can make any necessary arrangements/changes to the running order.

Footwear
Footwear must be worn at all times throughout the venue. This includes dressing rooms, corridors and toilets. No one is permitted to go barefoot on stage, you must be wearing proper shoes, foot thongs are not acceptable.
Finale Routine & Finale Costuming
Currently due to cover there will not be a finale but each school will have a 16 count bow at the end of their second dance.
Normally you would be sent the finale video and you would need to teach this to your troupe in advance of the show. There would be a run through during the dress rehearsal where everyone will be given numbers.

What We Need for the Programme
We would like to include your school in the show programme. For this, we will need a cast list, a biography about your school (of no more than 150 words) and a single group photograph (of as many of the participating students that you can get together in one place). There is a strict deadline, we have arranged with the printers but it would be most helpful, if you can get any of these elements to us earlier.
